« There's Something New in our Bin...We're Recycling Bags » was the slogan of this awareness campaign. Coordinated by the OUC, in conjunction with Groupe TIRU, this campaign aimed to inform residents of Aylmer , Hull , Gatineau , Masson-Angers and Buckingham of the importance of recycling plastic bags and the steps to follow in order to ensure that the process runs efficiently.

By launching this information campaign, the Outaouais was in keeping with the goal of the first “Semaine québécoise pour la réduction des déchets” ran in every region of Quebec under the theme: “ More Action, Less Waste ”.
