Valentine's
Day Ball – A Smash Success!

More than 500 people came to celebrate love
and friendship as this premier event marked
its fifth anniversary.
Among the illustrious guests who attend this
glamorous evening were the Honourable
Hélène Chalifour Scherrer, Minister of Canadian Heritage
and Minister Responsible for Museums; the Honourable Mauril Bélanger;
the Right Honourable Antonio Lamer
and Madam Justice Danielle Tremblay; the Honourable André
Ouellet; and Mr. Victor Rabinovitch, President and CEO of the Canadian
Museum of Civilization.
Guests at the Ball were treated to a short
performance by the celebrated Canadian violinist
Jasper Wood.
Finally, it should be noted that this prestigious
event enabled the Friends of the Canadian Postal Museum to present
a cheque for the record amount of $100,000 to their favourite museum.
Since its inception, the Valentine's Day Ball
has raised over $250,000 for the Friends of the Canadian Postal
Museum , a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting
the Canadian Postal Museum in its efforts to preserve Canada 's
rich postal heritage.
